Pressure Washing, Power Washing, and Soft Washing

- What is the difference?

• Soft Washing: A cleaning method using LOW PRESSURE to gently clean surfaces. Cleaning chemicals are used to safely kill organic growth and remove stains.

• Pressure Washing: A cleaning method using high pressure water to clean surfaces. Generally, cleaning chemicals are used in conjunction with high pressure water to kill organic growth and remove stains.

• Power Washing: A cleaning method using high pressure hot water/steam to clean surfaces. Generally, cleaning chemicals ARE NOT used. Instead, the high heat is used to kill organic growth and remove stains.

- Our Cleaning Methods:

• Soft Wash: This is our primary cleaning method. We believe this is the safest method of cleaning exterior surfaces without damage. We utilize the appropriate chemicals and concentrations to remove organic stains (mildew, algae, mold, etc.) and non-organic stains (rust, iron, clay, etc.) so they can be removed with low pressure water.

• Pressure Washing: We generally reserve this cleaning method for concrete (over 2 years old) because it can withstand the higher pressure without damage. Since pressure washing can etch younger/softer concrete, we always test before doing so. If we determine etching could be an issue, we soft wash the concrete as well.

• Power Washing: We don’t employ this cleaning method. While it is a valid cleaning method that can be used safely, we find it’s use case too narrow at this time for our purposes.

Property Protection:

• All of these cleaning methods come with risks. That is why you will see a “Property Protection” line item in every quote you receive from us! We take the time to protect items and vegetation that could be damaged by the chosen cleaning methods. We also spot test before cleaning to ensure the finishes are not damaged by the selected chemicals and cleaning methods.

• Your property is our upmost concern! That is why we strive to protect your property through continued education and diligence. Regardless, unforeseen events and mistakes can happen. In such a case, we will work with you to make it right! We’re insured to protect against such occurrences and will gladly provide a Certificate of Insurance upon request.
